Here's my favorite answer ... it depends. <g>
First, in VS2003, the Command Window is pretty useful when you're debugging. You *can* type stuff into it interactively after you've hit a breakpoint and it will display values and you can even change the values of some things. Intellisense is usually fully operational as well. I've had intermittent problems with it, but on the whole it seems to work ok.
Now, VS2005 is another story ... for some reason, the functionality of the Command Window had been drastically changed ... to the point where it had seemed totally useless to me ... until, that is, I discovered that they've simply added another window, the Immediate Window, that works the same as the old Command Window did. I'm not really sure what the new Command Window is supposed to be for.
So, bottom line is this:
VS2003, use the Command Window
VS2005, use the Immediate Window
