Is there a way to detect whether a menu bar's ON BAR command was triggered via the mouse or via a shortcut key?

The reason I'm asking this question is that I would like to 'instrument' a prototype I'm building and log how users interface with the system. In particular, which 'actions' are frequently invoked via keyboard shortcuts vs. mouse navigation of the menu system.
