>What might be the reason that a record is being printed/displayed/listed twice in the detail report?

- It exists twice in the cursor/table.

- A different table is the current alias, so the report is being driven by a table other than the one you think.

- You have a relation or set skip that is messing with the data.

- You run the report from a form that has a grid and the record source of the grid is messing with the report.

Hi Cathy,

I had all 4 possible problems checked and none of the 4 are present. Would it be possible that the .CDX file had something to do with it?

You see, I had this report that i run from a form (no grid). It just displayed the details according to salesman group and by (order) product using let say "index1" (salesman+productcode+DTOC(docdate). This one particular record would always print twice in the detail band. I didn't notice it untill I made another report selection in that form to print the details according to Customer group and then again by (order) product. So I made additional index for the table ("index2" "(customer+productcode+DTOC(docdate)"). When I ran the new report selection, the same record displayed only once which is what it suppose to and so the total count didn't match the other report which should have same total as the new report since it has the same table . I checked the table and it is only one record of that particular type. I tried running the previous options and it printed/display twice again. So what I did was, to delete that particular record and pack then re-encoded the same record. After that, I ran both reports and the record only print/displayed once and the total for the two reports are now equal.

If you delete the .CDX file, how will you re-index it?

Thanks again,

Sonny
