Drag vertically or horizontally?

>I have a data base for scheduled tasks. I want to create a form with a grid on it. In the first colume I want to create a button that the user clicks and drags to the place this record should sit. The record is moved and the grid is refreshed. That is the plan. I am in desperate need of help for a path to take to execute this plan. How do I make a grid with this kind of functionality.
