We should obey just laws and resist unjust laws. (My parents were on the Washington Mall when Martin Luther King said "I have a dream.")
I do believe in the rule of law, but I also believe that being a patriotic American means paying attention to what government is doing and opposing the government when it's wrong.
The point of my question, though, was how you reconcile what the Founding Fathers did with what you quoted.
