I haven't read the entire thread so I may be responding based upon a wrong premise. If your comments pertain to the Revolution, then.......

The list of grievances ennumerated in the Declaration of Independence has no mention whatsoever about supression of freedom of worship.

There was also no mention contesting English sovereignty in terms other than their having forfeited sovereignty due to tyranny/poor management. In other words, sovereignty was not an issue. If the English had not done all the things listed, their right to continue to rule would not have been in question.
