I agree about the scroll bars. I may have to run some tests to see what sort of actual performance degradation we would see using cursors. Besides the scroll bar issue, filtering tables also has it's own performance issues...if it ends up a wash, I'd likely lean towards the cursors for usability sake.
As for sorting a grid without requerying, would you mind explaining how you make that work?
