Amen, brother. One of the problems there is application consistancy. If you allow direct grid edit on a grid, then the user (rightfully) expects it on all grids in the application. In my experience, some grids list some complex data that requires an edit form to reasonably populate all fields.

Consistancy is a buzz-word with me. What's the point of OOP with an inconsistant interface?
