Dimitry;

When it comes to voting, politicians in office really do not care about the views of those who elected him/her. Consideration to the views of voters is not given until shortly before it is time for an election or reelection. Voters have short memories.

Politicians are controlled by lobbyist and other politicians who trade favors and create pork barrel spending, along with related political party agenda. What is desired by the voters is forgotten once a politician is in Washington D.C.

>>Perhaps you are unaware of how jobs are being outsourced to other countries. People with many years of "loyalty" are laid off. Is it because the workers in those other countries are better than us? Do they work harder than us? Not in the least.

>The fact that outsourcing exists does not make the model of American capitalism bad. Outsourcing is a reality of today’s economy. Are you suggesting that outsourcing should be banned? If many people in this country will come to this conclusion (as you seem to) (based on all objective considerations) that outsourcing is so bad, they will vote for those who support their view. How else things can be improved? Do you want the corporations to just voluntarily stop outsourcing when it is beneficial to them (sometimes)? You would not go to the most expensive store to buy your groceries just because you thing it is fair. And many corporations now discover that sometimes outsourcing is good and other times it is bad. Outsourcing will change the way we see out jobs, the way people train for the job, how they choose colleges, etc. But I don’t see it as a sign that American capitalism is wrong. I remember that in early 80s some people were saying that computers will take away
>all out job and will kill the paper industry <g>.
