I've done a little more research on this, and I think the problem is that the objects I'm trying to destroy are data handling objects which inherit the datasession that is currently active and may not be closing because of the datasession being open... does that make sense?
It's not clear that I can destroy a datasession, so I'll try setting it to 1 in the objects destroy method to see if that clears things up.
