>>>By the way in case you do not know from my other threads, my wife is from Peru and we have been married for 40 years. I play flamenco guitar and have played professionally. I still play for Gitanos who visit the San Francisco Bay Area from Spain. When I retire in the next year or two I will teach guitar. That is what I truely enjoy!

>>Flamingo guitar, dang that's gotta hurt the bird!<g> Well, what do you know, I play guitar too. Mine is more a fusion of folk/country/pop/rap/opera except for those last two. I've got a limited edition Taylor 510C that I am crazy about. We used to do acoustic jam sessions at Devcon before the other three guys in our group (Nerdvana) went to the dark side - dot net.

>I recently purchased a Gretsch Country Classic, which they are changing to flat wound strings today, and I play Blues, Jazz, Country and Western, and Celtic music. 50’s rock is all right but I will not play or listen to “modern rock”. Electric steel string guitars are really different than nylon string flamenco guitars. I have always loved the guitar and piano.

Do you consider Steely Dan "modern rock"? I was listening to some of their on Saturday and was struck in particular by Walter Becker's guitar playing. (Also Daniel Fagen's vocals on "Brooklyn"). IMO he is a seriously underrated guitarist.
