Is this an island called "Canary" or the "Canary Isles" (inc. Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote) in the Atlantic, part of Spain?

Surely no-one would get that wrong - "... One small step ..." Louis Armstrong (looking back at Earth inspired him to write "What a Wonderful World"), then Buzz Lightyear (poor Phil Collins had to stay in the Command Module, composing "Something in the Air")

John Glen - wasn't he the first American to circumnavigate the world, as opposed to Alan Sheppard's parabollic flight?
And later became the Galactic Commander of the astronauts.
