I agree. The rumor is the joint chiefs of staff are or have put together a strongly worded document to tell the president that attacking iran is not a good idea.

Many people see this as extremely, extremely dangerous. Yet others feel a joke is in order because their commander-in-chief can do no wrong. If he says it's a good idea, it must be a good idea.

>Bush is being played by the Iranians in order to shore up their 15% approval rating. And he's playing to his own base who apparently believe that a bombing betting pool is a clever reaction to yet another Bush foreign policy misstep.

>>>Bush... propping up Iran's hardliners....

>>>The ability to slightly enrich uranium is not the same as the ability to build a bomb. For the latter, you need at least 80% enrichment, which in turn would require about 16,000 small centrifuges hooked up to cascade. Iran does not have 16,000 centrifuges. It seems to have 180. Iran is a good ten years away from having a bomb, and since its leaders, including Supreme Jurisprudent Ali Khamenei, say they do not want an atomic bomb because it is Islamically immoral, you have to wonder if they will ever have a bomb.
>>>
>>Is flying planes into office buildings immoral? I think he is of that ilk. He has already said this is a jihad against the US and Israel.
>>>
>>>Likewise, Bush is trying to shore up his base, which is desperately unhappy with the Iraq situation, by rattling sabres at Iran. Bush’s poll numbers are so low, often in the mid-30s, that he must have lost part of his base to produce this result. Iran is a great deus ex machina for Bush. Rally around the flag yet again.
>>
>>So you are saying Bush is pulling a Clinton. As in, everytime things got hot for Clinton, he bombed a milk factory! Well, it worked for slick willie, maybe it can work for W.
>>
>>I think Israel will make this problem go away and soon.

(On an infant's shirt): Already smarter than Bush
