>>I have a collection of files created by Install Shield (I think) that when executed will install an application. I have added the files to a ZIP archive to make the files easier to download from the internet. My problem now is that I will have to write instruction explaining how to extract the files from the ZIP archive and explaining how to dbl-click the setup.exe file (I probably have to further explain which file is the setup.exe file if they have turned off the extension for known file types).

I wish I could do that :) The problem is that it is not "my" application and I did not create the install project. I just somehow was placed in charge of getting the install ready for download on the internet and instead of explaining to the webdesigner how to unzip a zip file I think it is easier to create a self-extracting zip rather than a regular zip file.
Semper ubi sub ubi.
