Heh. I don't remember exactly why that was going on. Was it about WMDs? I thought there was something else involved there. While I don't remember "retreat monkies," here in the states a "retreat" also can mean someplace to go for a mini-vacation, so that invokes visions of... well, nevermind.
I definitely recall rolling my eyes and despising the post 9/11 over-enthusiastic flag wavers for contributing to the world's low opinion of us. The wife and I did, however, engage in some "freedom kissing."
I tend to stay centered. No jingoism post 9/11 -- and I was at a Rhode Island airport that morning, having stayed both in Boston and New York City during that vacation, and lucky not to have been on one of those planes -- and no "impeach Bush NOW!" demonstrations despite my liberal tendencies. Fanaticism doesn't become me.
>I'm just wondering, were you one of those who rejoiced in calling French Fries "freedom fries" and called the French "retreat monkies" for daring to suggest that there were no WMD to be found?
