I believe the current plan, as it has been adjusted, IS working. There is an enormous amount of good news coming out of Iraq every day.

Removing members of the group that came up with the "plan" at this point serves no purpose except to give our enemies something to claim victory with. The fact that the group did not stick to a failing plan but instead modified it into a workable alternative shows competence and a willingness to adapt.

Instability at the top of the chain of command is not acceptable given the situation we're in right now. Fighting 2 wars with a 3rd country baiting us each day is the time to make sure every part of the chain of command knows who is in charge in no uncertain terms. Bush did that again by backing Rumsfeld.
