I guess I am not clear as to what type of datasource you are using for your report and when it is created. Where does the data source for the report reside and what form is it in? Is it from a view or a table or what? Are you creating it on the fly before running the report or do you want the report to create the cursor for you? I am not sure what you are trying to do. Are you wanting to use a cursoradapter maybe? I understood your message to mean that the cursor did not exist during design time but that it would exist during runtime. Maybe these will help:
