My standard toolbar is used with nearly all my forms, which are also designed to work with it.

The buttons include not only the four standard (vcr) navigation buttons, but add/edit/delete find/filter save/revert/close.

Also included is a popup that is populated with index tag names drawn from my extended data dictionary. When the user chooses a tag it sets the order to that tag for the primary alias of the active form. The array is re-populated depending on the active form.

Next to that popup is an ascending/descending option group.

Much more than VCR buttons.

Also, a vertical toolbar to open the most often used forms seems to be desired by some of my clients rather than mere menu options.

As another note, I attempted to use a File-Open methodology that was a generic form with a list of form names, also populated by my data dictionary. Although it worked great, with at least one client it was a TOTAL FLOP!

Hope these are useful thoughts......
