Hi Colin,

My latest effort in relation to this problem is to compensate for labels that extend inappropriately beyond the right edge by running a copy of the report in which the offending labels have been moved to the left an appropriate amount. In order to decide which labels need to be moved to the left I'll use two kind of rules: the first is the default, something like "move to the left labels that are in a header", and the second one are the exceptions, using the comment or user fields to hold instructions, for example 'LJ' or 'RJ' (left-justify or right-justify).

This way I can continue to create reports visually in the designer, avoid repetitive rules and compensate for those cases where the method fails.

Thanks for your help and insights.

Alex

>>How do you right align in the printed results a title and a number field? When printed, the number field leaves about one space in the right side, with the result that if you right align title and field in the FRX, they are not right aligned when printed.
