It seems to me that I should be able to use the Insert & Update triggers to do similar processes for the current table, but I can only get them to work for tables other than the current one. Are they just designed for other tables? Or, am I missing something?

>Yes I am using buffering. So, is this correct behavior of Visual Fox? That I cannot update the current table from any of the Triggers? I can get the triggers to fire, but only if I am updating a table other than the current one when buffering is on. Correct?
Triggers for current table or others would fire whenever real write is done (tableupdate if table buffering, or rec move -implicit tableupdate-, tableupdate when row buffering). And some commands cause them to never execute (see pack, zap, update deleted recs). See "create trigger" in help, and to understand it in depth use a test table(s) in different buffering modes (putting only a messagebox() in trigger serves well to check them firing).
