It takes about twice as long to instantiate a form - no SQL to speak of

I will try some experiments - I wondered about general settings that might have changed - e.g. my earler question as to why letters reverse on typing when using a form keypress event - really strange as if VFP is polling for events while it is processing one already...

almost as if the debugger were open - that sure slows things down
