>>>>I've made a statement before up here, that is both liberal and republican is far to the right of anything accepted in other countries (including canada). Anyone who is offended by this statement should look at reality and will see it is reality. IOW, there is no (significant) left present in the US. So the statment of jews generally beeing liberal might hold ground in the US, but might not in other coutries (where liberals placed are on the far right).

>I would like you to find for me anything in English that proves your point. What's leftist in America may be center or center-right in the Netherlands, but for the rest of Europe? I don't think so. Prove me wrong.

I'm not going to invest a lot of time proving you anything as it is a waste of time as you'd refuse that anyways. The netherlands currently has the most right administration in decades and I don't know of any country in western europe that currently is more to the right than ours. I vote for the political right.

So from my p.o.v. your attempt to debunk my statment totally misses reality. If you want to test my statment I'd suggest to do it yourself. There are lots of people here on the UT who do come from canada and european countries. Ask them yourself.

>Recently I had the opportunity to ask a Dutch acquaintance about politics back home. His response - "Don't ask me, I don't pay attention to politics." Doesn't sound like such an enlightened European to me. But I know better than to dismiss your entire population as apolitical. You, on the other hand, seem to see nothing wrong with generalizing our entire country based on one or two narrow-minded observations.

hahaha.... So what are you saying here Dan?? Did I give you the impression that every dutch has much too say than I have or has a lot of interest in politics. I don't think in that respect there is not a lot difference between americans and dutch.

Narrow minded observations ?? You really don't have a clue don't you? This is exactly what I'm accusing a lot of americans to have. Yes I'm generalizing as that it is the only way to draw a global picture. Are you telling me to draw conclusions on individual cases and project that on 280 million people?

>So here's your chance, Walter. I want to see some hard proof of your claim that there is no significant left in the US. I want to see some believable information that what passes for liberalism here would be far right in other countries. Countries plural, Walter, not just your own.

I've asked you to have some hard proof in the past year or so, many times before, but we all know how that ends up. Even with hard statistical figures it is almost impossible to draw proper solutions, because they are crafted for one particular purpose. If you want to debunk my statement, just go ahead. Make my day....

If you don't want to face reality, that is your choice, not mine.
