I respect Ted's opinion a lot, but doesn't a call for one "office standard" basically mean a call for "one target for malware authors"?
IOW, a virus that attacks OpenOffice will also affect Corel and IBM's office suites equally.
It's a noble and equal-opportunity attack venue, but I'm not sure what it buys for *me* as an end-user. ;-)
