Could I just ask you, Sam, were YOU born in the USA or are you an immigrant (your name isn't typically American, nor is your writing)? If so, I'd have thought you'd have more sympathy for the immigrants who didn't have your magic ingredient.

>>Illegal aliens come here on their own choice, and are not force to work. <<

>Ok, bring them all in from al over the world. We can feed and house them all. Let them all in. Who needs borders? First come, first serve, right?
>
>>
>>Come on, you guys. The Statue of Liberty says "give us your huddled, tired masses, yearning to be free". Perhaps you need to add on the bottom "unless they are mexicans willing to pick lettuces for cheap." ;-)

>We'll gladly accept anyone who comes here legally. United States is sovereign nation.

>>I see that President Bush is advocating a "Temporary Worker" program as a legal way to get work done that Americans don't want to do. He doesn't want to deport them all. Meanwhile his critics claim that any "solution" to the illegal labor problem that does not include a path to citizenship will entrench an underclass. According to polls, more and more people want to see illegal workers normalized, not made into felons.
>
>I like Bush's idea. Anything is better then what is now in place, which is nothing.

>>Something to consider: illegal aliens have over a million children in the USA every 3 years. Their parents may be illegal, but every one of those children is a US citizen, same as you.
>
>Maybe they should change this law. Heck, even Canada don't recognize babies born there as citizens if their gardians aren't citizen.
>
>>How will you explain to them why you want to jail or deport their parents for the terrible crime of picking lettuces for pennies so you can buy your groceries cheap?
>
>I never said we had to deport the ones that are already here. Give them a path to become citizens or to gain lawful status. Then enforce the existing immegration laws to their fullest.
>
>BTW: price of groceries won't be that much higher....
- Whoever said that women are the weaker sex never tried to wrest the bedclothes off one in the middle of the night
- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
