>Yeah, but should we allow more of them (the criminals) in from other countries?
>can't you have legal citizens who commit illegal acts?

Well, in US you have enough criminals for export, so defenetely you don't *miss* those from outside, but you got it all wrong. I was actually slicing hair :)

Once you made wrong parking (and I am sure you did) you were *illegal* at the time. How wld you feel if someone opposite the street started shouting -**You illegal criminal! ** Were you criminal just because of wrong parking ? You were defenetely *illegal* at that point of time!
Did you get urge to rob the bank all of the sudden ?
I felt like that sometime, but that was more becasue of my financial situation :))

I agree that all people should obey the law, but why is that particular fact (illegal status) so important to you as yesterday immigrant ?
As today immigrant (got citizenship 4 years back) I kind of don't get that.
Should I start screaming right away:
[Immigrants are taking our jobs away]
[Immigrants are cause of All of our problems]
[Immigrants are criminals]
.
.
Or should I wait couple of more years?
Why people do that? My funky theory is that simillar to child abuse or ordinary frustration, it keep on getting passed on and on arround.
Or as Americans says; 'What goes arround, comes arround'
Discrimination / branding of people never brought any good to anyone, and is unfortunately so commonly practiced worldwide. This is that mean/evil spirit I was talking about.
