>119 is not uncommon at all that time of year. No matter what, it's gonna be well over 100 and probably over 110 EVERY day. When I go to conventions and such I like to spend a few extra days around the city and look around - maybe goto a nearby national or state park or something. This is just stupid though - you're not going to be able to do ANYTHING other that hide in the airconditioning at "Desert Ridge Resort"!
Rent a car and run up to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff, as a way to beat the heat of the desert. You will be up in altitude so it's not that hot up @ 6,000 ft. Play some golf in Flagstaff and find that your drive is at least 20 yds longer.
