What do you mean "the SQL version wan't using an index"? If you mean it wasn't rushmore optimized, then I have tried also the rushmore optimizable form and it didn't work. I have also posted at the other forum (MS forum) a question about how come the simplest SQL query is not rushmore optimized. See
