Tried the cleanup you've mentioned... As I've suspected it didn't help much.
Not sure what do you mean about the DNS on the server. The network is a small Win2003 server with 5 XP stations. There are also some win98 stations which don't use the server. The server is very fast with other processes including VFP itself. The SQL thing is driving me nuts because I can achieve the exact same results using xbase command and get it in no time. So it just gotta be something on the VFP side.

I have since tried to see if my selects are rushmore optimized and they are not. I have ran a very simple sql select query on a simle index and found out it is not optimized.
Select * from ruginv where status = "ST000"
The table has an index on status.

I'm baffled.
