I think my favourite is "telephonically communicated", since it is so much easier to say than "by phone". ie- It was telephonically communicated to the CEO on Monday rather than the much more cumbersome It was given to the CEO by phone on Monday
On the other hand "Cellulite" instead of 'fat', or "Wellness" instead of 'health' have really enriched the language (or if not the language, at least the snake oil industry).
