A few people have said "white socks with athletic outfits". Sure I'm aware of that; that's universal, and everyone seems to be disavowing them for street wear, but I still see an inordinate number of Americans wearing them, on film, TV, docu's.

BTW you guys say athletic or sport uniforms, whereas we say "kit". A footballer wears his club's "strip".
