There was a piece in the Style section of the NY Times a few Sundays ago focusing on Birkenstocks. There were pictures of Harry Shearer in the folk movie spoof (something wind?) and Phil Jackson on the court at the Staples Center - good lord, what is the world coming to? -- wearing Birkenstocks. One of the comments was "Nothing tells you 'I want to tell you how to run your life' like Birkenstocks."
