You are correct that would be better to use an existing grammar and spelling engine but there are two problems:

1 - The customer can use MS Word or OpenOffice or nothing in the machiene where the program is running

2 - The problem is to create a dictionary with the special words that the customer wants to check.


>"Show the position"? How do you "show"? If it is, say, editbox on the form, then see if selstart property helps.

>Out of curiosity: why you wish to design your own spell check routine if there is already built-in grammar and spelling engine in MS WORD? You could use it with word automation.
