Foxfire! is much more than a wrapper around the VFP report writer. There are features in the VFP report writer (such as multiple detail bands) which are not yet implemented in Foxfire!, But, at the same time, there are features in Foxfire! that are not available in the VFP report writer.
In addition, with Foxfire! end users can create their own reports without having to depend on a programmer.
I also find that as a programmer, I can write and deploy a report with Foxfire! faster than I can do the same report in VFP and incorporate it into my software.
The May 2006 issue of UT Magazine has an article I wrote about Foxfire!
