>>So let's say you're a romantic. And let's say a relationship has recently ended, painfully so for both. And let's say you know you should be sleeping but can't stop tossing and turning because you're fixated on the nature of love. Who winds up with who, and why? Why do we choose the people we do? How does it happen? Why the yesses, why the nos? I would hate to think it's just chance, although I suspect that's at least part of the answer.

>>If anyone is bold enough to answer this question, what makes you fall in love and what makes you fall out of love?
>
>Not sure I can answer the first question, but I think part of the answer to the second is an unwillingness to let your partner grow. Or, to reverse that, one of the important things in keeping a relationship strong is supporting and encouraging growth in your partner.
>
>I guess I should distinguish change from growth. Some people want to change their partners to better fit the image in their minds. That tends to be a problem. But some people help their partners to achieve their own goals, which builds trust and offers new interests and abilities.

You don't have to be the professor all the time, Tamar. How did you and Marshal wind up together? Were there any obstacles you had to get over?

I see the Phillies are sailing along pretty well after a slow start. Were you there to see Baroid's #713? He's going to get Babe Ruth, that's inevitable, but I hope he doesn't get Aaron. That would be a travesty. Actually it's a travesty that he's getting Ruth.
