We are getting the following error message when printing or print previewing:
In diagnosing this problem it has become apparent that the problem occurs when trying to print a report designed for 8.5x14 on a printer that by default serves 8.5.x11 pages. Thus the reason for the error message is obvious; it's too big for the page.
But as I start to think about the problem it bothers me that an error is produced. It seems to me that even if you are printing a Legal page on a printer (say a color inkjet HP G55) that only has a Letter tray, the printer will always have a manual feed where a Legal page could go. So it seems to me that the preview should just show it on a legal size paper and only when printing with the wrong options should you have problems.
To further complicate the issue, I am having the problem on a Citrix server using a ThinPrint driver. While the physical printers that are printed on have both Letter and Legal trays, the ThinPrint.com driver appears to hide that from Foxpro. And the error occurs.
So my question is, does anyone have a graceful way of handling this issue? If I have to say "you need to use a better printer driver" I'm going to run into that whole "Foxpro sucks" issue, and I always like to spare the rep of the Fox.
Help.
