>They have this thing at Sunday afternoon home games that is so cool I can't believe it. 9 local kids whose names are chosen in a lottery are introduced as the starting home team and run out to their positions. Then the real Brewers starting lineup is introduced and they run out next to the kids. They talk, pictures are taken, and the National Anthem is played. The "starting catcher" kid throws the ball out to the real starting pitcher. Maybe it's cornball but I love it.
The Phillies do the same thing, but the kids are chosen before the game from among those who arrive wearing Phillies shirts. I noticed Sunday night that about half of them were wearing shirts or jerseys for the player whose position they were assigned to.
