Its like they knew we were discussing Hilary

>>>
>>>I'm really curious about this. I know that she is despised by a whole lot of groups (not just in your area), but to be honest, I'm not really sure why there is such an incredibly deep animosity toward her. I have to admit that I just don't know enough about her to be for or against, other than she seems to be a health care advocate. Didn't she push through some sort of children's health care initiative? She doesn't seem to be too much of a dove, nor does she seem to be too anti corporation. So exactly what is it about her?
>>>
>>>Honestly Dan, this is not a sarcastic or flippant question. Maybe if I knew more about her, I'd understand, but I really don't.
>>
>>The main reasons are as follows:
>>Republicans don't like her because :
>>-Hilary care - Gov't run health care entitlement
>>-Co-President - We elect 1 president not 2
>
>But the same people seem to have loved Ronald Reagan.
>
>>-Ultra Liberal - before she won here Senate seat in New York and moved to center. Repubs see this as simply a ploy to run for presidency in '08
>
>Wasn't she one of the few Dems who did not oppose the Iraq invasion? Do you really think that was a ploy?
>
>>-Numerous scandals - The Clinton legacy is one of constant scandal
>
>The major scandal was his, not hers. All she did was a Tammy Wynette impression. Personally I think she should have told him to take a hike, but she didn't, and she lost points in my eyes for that. The other thing went nowhere. If you are going to judge a politician on accusations and allegations that go nowhere, very few will ever be acceptable.
>
>>Democrats don't like her because :
>>-Hilary care - She didn't get it passed. Held secret meetings
>
>I don't think she ever had a chance on Hilary care. It would have been too much of a culture shock. Although, I admit I am not aware of the secret meetings. I'll have to do some reading. Did she actually sabotage her own initiative?
>
>>-Supports the war - This may be overlooked because like Repubs many believe this is a ploy to set up presidential run.
>
>Do they really think that, or do they just say they think it because she's a Dem and they're Reps?
>
>>Average people don't like her because :
>>-Marriage of convience - Perception that Bill and her simply stay married for political reasons
>
>Maybe. That I don't have an opinion on since I don't know enough about their history. Although, the fact that she didn't dump him with all that was going on does not speak against the idea. Either she was taking one for the team, dreaming of bigger things, or really is dumber than a stump.
>
>>-Skreeching Voice - This may be her biggest downfall. She need to work on her intonation when she raises her voice or the American people will only see a shrill banshee on the stump.
>
>Yes, she needs a voice coach.
>
>>-Power hungry - Not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself but taken with the rest it makes her unpredictabily dangerous
>
>The vast majority of politician are power hungry. The vast majority of them will say anything at all to get elected. The vast majority of them wouldn't know how to tell the unbridled truth if there was a gun put to their heads. The only reason most of them are in politics is a lust for power.
>
>>-Bitch - The main perception of Hil is that shes a bitch in pumps
>
>No comment.
>
>What it seems to come down to is that most don't like her for reasons that can pretty much translate to most other politicians. There seems to me to be more to it. I guess the biggest problem is that we (the U.S. and Canada both) are more focused on image than substance. I don't really know if there is much substance to her, but I read that even Rupert Murdoch (if you can imagine such a thing) is on her side. It'll be interesting to see how Fox News handles her if that's the case.
