I don't think I will ever be able to shake that unless I follow a career path like training to be a helicopter pilot (and I don't see that happening). Earlier this year, I spent 4 straight weeks in southeast Louisiana (north shore of Lake Ponchartrain) for Katrina related work and had a blast. We were inspecting water systems (over 200 in 4 weeks) to assess damage repair progress. As part of that effort, I wound up developing a VFP/Word automation app to generate all the site evaluation reports, some VFP/Excel automation code to create all the files FEMA needed, and some Oracle work to get the data into the State's database. The dev work was at night (very long days) while the inspections were done during the day.
