I just tried some sample code (using a Web Service called from a WinForm) and I couldn't see any problem when connections were closed correctly. The connection did not seem to be pooled, or at least if it was it still didn't prevent me from opening the table in VFP exclusively. I was using a free table rather than a table in a DBC, don't know if that makes any difference or not.
