Inefficient? If you count the article's number of words and only focus on 'the solution', then yes it probably is inefficient. But if you also take into account the number of more-or-less-discarded alternatives that were discussed along the thread, than it is not less efficient. I think that learning should also include learning about the ways that might pop up as apparent, but that one should better NOT go.
