That might hv been better then what is happening right now.
Precise missile strike removing Saddam and his transportation vehicle
(and maybe few bodyguards) wld be much less damage then invading whole country.
After that you could just say;
'Uups - it happened by mistake! We tought it was Soviet spy mission
impersonating Saddam, - We are very very sorry and we will not do it (ever) again.'
