Windows 2003 Server
We run a custom application that uses foxpro for the front end and MS SQL 2000 sp4 on the back end. The fox pro application is version 7 running on Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 and we are having slowness problems.
The servers are all over powered and under utilized (less than 10% cpu load and 1.5 GB ram).
1: Dual CPU 3.4 Xeon
2: 4 GB ram
3: 72 GB hard drives
The internet is a T3 (45 MB) and we average around 5 MB all day long with occasional spikes up to 15 MB but now where near the 45 MB limit.
I read that foxpro v.7 doesn't do well on Citrix (ICA) because it does full screen refreshes of its bitmap graphics and doesn't use Windows API. I also discovered this "foxpfix" which is included in the Citrix application. It is disabled by default and can lead to high CPU utilization which make me wary of implementing it. I guess the real question is, does it even pertain to our version of foxpro anymore? Does this foxpfix really help and or upgrading to v.9 of foxpro solve any of these problems?
