The problems are no different than they were when I was wearing the green in the 1980's. We had our share of people in basic training that weren't quite all there, and they didn't always wash out. Some made it to line units, but the real problem cases were usually discovered and either isolated or chaptered out.

The military is a huge organization, and there will be a percentage of undesirables in it. I would say this is an example of sensationalist reporting.
