I realize it sounds like that. But in fact no country is totally immune from illegal aliens except possibly North Korea.
The fact that Toronto's illegals are in a single industry (sure there's gotta be the odd one in other fields) and the fact that most here would not knowingly hire an illegal for work they need done is the difference. In other words, the building industry here is an aberration, not the rule.

But it's a 'dirty little secret' because everyone was PRETENDING that it didn't exist or that such folk did only menial jobs not 'worthy' of red-blooded Americans.
In other words, the ends justified the means.
