Years ago I shared an office with three of a client's developers. One of them was a guy in his 50s who had been married for eons. Every time he called his wife from the office he started the conversation the same way. "Alma? This is Dave." The rest of us always had to stifle our laughter. They lived alone (grown children), so who else would she be? And didn't he think she recognized his voice by then? Hilarious.
