>>>Back in the early 1970's when we had our first oil crisis people would steal gas from your car. So many folks put locking gas caps on their vehicles. That is nice but I have heard of the latest technique to get “free gasoline”.
>>>
>>>The person interested in obtaining “free gasoline” from your car simply punches a hole in your gas tank and drains it. You only have to spend a few hundred dollars and a bit of inconvenience to have a new gas tank installed. Then you will be ready for the next exercise in someone obtaining “free gasoline” from your latest gas tank. Nice it is not!
>>
>>Not nice at all. Solution is simple: Just install a petcock on your car's gas tank. Your gas will still be stolen but your gas tank is not ruined <s>.

>I remember a new Cadillac parked in front of my then new Volvo. As we returned from a restaurant to our car, we noticed the police and two people standing near the Cadillac. The lady had left something in the car and every window of the car was broken out.
>
>Somehow I think that if you gave the jerks who would steal your gasoline all the gasoline they wanted and delivered it too the place of their choice they would still come back to punch a hole in your gas tank!

I think you're right! Some time ago, I found my car window smashed in and my glove box rifled. The car wasn't even locked at the time!
