I considered this and will try it, but the idea of calling READ EVENTS or opening a modal form in a timer event handler and staying in it for a long time seems like it may cause problems.

Otherwise I agree that maybe I should just treat these as two separate applications and use another inter-process communication method between them.

DDE comes to mind - have you used any others?
