>The speed is still the same. I have plenty of disk space available (200MB). The funny thing is that Access if giving a better performance than VFP whereas I have seen a lot of Access bashing on this site.

If you read the 'Selecting a DataBase Devlopement Tool' or such on Microsofts site.. I belive it was written by Robert Green, it talks about the speed of the FoxPro engine vs the Access engine...

Bottom line is... the Access engine has been very FIXED with FoxPro code.. it contains rushmore optimization... it also contains some of the MS-SQl methods which has to do with multi-user performance and adding multi-records... basically, multi entry points were created so page lociking would not slow down record adding.

Anyway... the bottom bottom line is that VFP and Access (Jet 3.0 I think) are so close in performance that there is little difference.

The main differences are structure, record locking vs page locking, and security.

Most people here that Access bash are relying on 4-6 year old Jet engine info.
