>We have encountered a strange problem on 1 of the user's PCs. When the user wants to import an Excel file, in my programs I use the GETFILE() function. When the small screen appears, the user clicks on the droplist to search for the file. At this moment the program locks up. The droplist does not appear. And the program becomes 'Not Responding'. In the task manager the PC's resources are NOW maxed out. Had to open the task manager up before I tried, otherwise it would not open at all. > >On my PC sometimes if I haven't needed to access any network drives for an hour or so it will hang for maybe 10 seconds. But the droplist will always eventually appear. Even Word & Excel applications do this to me. So I know it can't be my programs specifically. > >Is there a DLL problem in Windows? The network team & myself are stumped.
SWAG: Does Windows Explorer open the same drive/folder OK in that machine? Could it be that it has a humongous number of files (maybe even full temporary windows cache files)?
