So let's see now, within the past 6 weeks or so we've seen the Simpson-ian attack on immigrants, an attempt to make English the "official language," tax cuts, and more talk of a gay marriage ban.

I knew the impact would be swift when Karl Rove was reassigned to focus on the November election drive, but he seems even busier than I could've suspected. Let's see how many of these we see dusted off or ramped up significantly in the next 5 months, thus continuing the Republican election year distraction and division tradition:

Flag burning amendment
Miranda warning scale back
Censorship threats against Hollywood, satellite radio, and the music industry for eroding our morals and values
Abortion rights lawsuits (including RU-482 showdown)
Anything about the Terry Schiavo fiasco
Terrorist threat level repeatedly raised to orange due to uncorroborated "chatter"
